Dear SAS Families,
During this Lenten Season, the Bishop has asked us to raise money for the Nigerian Seminary. We are doing a challenge to see what class/house can bring in the most money/student. Students can turn in loose change, dollar bills, or anything you would like to give to their classroom or house teacher.
We will also be having a Jean Day on Friday, March 24th and the money will go toward the Nigerian Seminary.
Thank you & God Bless,
The Lent Committee
Last fall, our St. Anthony School had an opportunity to help a very poor school in Liberia, Africa. Through the work of Pastor Cornelius Martor, the parent of one of our students, we were able to donate 18 old computers we were unable to use. Pastor Martor found some technology friends who volunteered to get them working the results are in the pictures below. His thank you letter is below:
I just wanted to let you know that we are very grateful for the computers you donated some time ago. Our school in Liberia has two hundred students, and those eighteen laptop computers are the best gift they have ever had.
After the Liberian Civil War, the entire educational program was destroyed. It is very difficult to get text books, qualified teachers and other educational resources to make learning effect and conducive. I belief that It is a great step forward for us as a school, to get those computers donated and we hope there can still be more to come.
It is also our prayer that you partner with us in anyway the Lord leads you to be a blessing to underprivileged children in Liberian.
Again, thanks for your donation.
God Bless you.
